Our History

In the late 1920’s, Cher Li Jiu and his cousin came to Malaya from Chao An district in Shantou, China, and lived in Jalan Kilang, Kuala Lumpur they operated the handmade noodle shop named Kong Soon at High Street. A year later, with the help of Teochew Association of Malacca, they came to Jonker Street at Malacca and started to sell handmade noodles. Cher Zhou passed the recipe on to Cher Chai Sheng (the 2nd generation) and started to took over the noodle business eventually, He registered the business as Chai Sheng in 1950 and slowly expended the small family business to include small machineries to increase its production. In 1992, Choo Siak Koon (the 3nd generation) invested semi-automatic machine to make noodles with more quality assurance, which were popular at that time with Teochew Kuih Teow as our hot selling product. In 1997, we moved to the industrial area of Taman Merdeka in Batu Berendam, which is now our present factory. In 2008, Choo Siang Kock (the 4nd generation), the current director, Chai Sheng was officially registered as Chai Sheng Food Industries (M) Sdn Bhd. which was gradually upgraded from semi-automation to fully automation. Meanwhile, Yee Mee, Noodle and vegetable noodle were also developed and produced. Our company also approved by government HALAL and MeSTI certification in 2018. Since its establishment, we have more than half a century of experience in noodle production. Our products are Teochew Kuew Teow, Yellow alkaline noodle, Yee Mee, Teochew white noodle, Wonton noodle and Dumping skin. At the same time, we also provide variety of vegetarian product and sauces in our outlet, as well as wholesale and export to foreign countries, such as Singapore and Australia.
